Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot fired the city’s retiring police superintendent Monday, citing “ethical lapses” that included telling lies about a recent incident in which Eddie Johnson was found asleep at the wheel of his car after having drinks.
The deadly shooting of an African American man by a white police officer this summer in South Bend, Indiana, highlighted Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s struggle to win black support for his presidential campaign. The issue could resurface as the prosecutor leading an investigation into the matter says his work likely won’t be finished before February, just as voters begin deciding whether Buttigieg should be the Democratic nominee.
God still speaks this above all is something that I would like to remind us all of. As we approach the 2020 election, and with impeachment news daily in the headlines, there are Christian leaders who prophesy that Donald Trump will indeed win. Kim Clement, a gift to the body of Christ, prophesied these happenings long before they ever happened. Watch below? What are your thoughts?
According to the opening statement of a former ambassador, Marie Yovanovitch Rudy Giuliani and others ran a negative and hateful campaign against her and undermined the diplomacy of America and got her fired and that’s why we’re doing this today i.e. in reference to the public testimony. In my opinion, this woman is pathetic. At the same time saying the president has the right to get rid of her for any reason…“at the pleasure of the president” she says.
BREAKING: The transcript of @POTUS’s first call with President Zelensky has been released, and it clearly vindicates @realDonaldTrump. Marie Yovanovitch, the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, this morning at 9 a.m. ET, the 60-year-old diplomat will take the stand again for Day Two of the public impeachment hearings against President Trump. I anticipate that house republicans will hammer her with an aggressive cross-examination related to her previous statements under oath.
Nearly 2,300 people have been shot and 424 were killed in Chicago from January 1 to October 24, 2019, according to the Chicago Tribune. In the new Fox Nation show, “The New Battle for Chicago,” Chicago native and Fox News political analyst Gianno Caldwell puts faces and names behind these horrific numbers in urban Chicago. There seems to be no progress in a city ran historically by a regime of democratic, liberal policy.
It is on this premise that I base my views and it is because I believe in creating your own privilege at the end of the day that I am a conservative. Liberalism has often held the “American Dream” as something to mock or distrust—something not for black people, an illusion that excludes the “others”.
Federal aid for America’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities has now expired and Congress can’t agree whether to pass a short or long term plan to restore the funding. A group of bipartisan senators, educators and students demand a vote now.
These federal dollars pay for campus infrastructure improvements, faculty and curriculum development, and student services. Without them, staff members are looking at layoffs and students are considering transferring.
