24 SHOOTINGS, 33 VICTIMS, 9 KILLED-ANOTHER VIOLENT WEEKEND IN CHICAGO

This past weekend was another violent one in the country’s third largest city, Chicago, with 24 shooting incidents & 33 shooting victims — including two juveniles since 6:00 p.m. Friday, including a 9-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy. In total (in just ONE weekend), nine people were killed. Most are BLACK LIVES!

Chicago police released new numbers showing a dramatic jump in homicides last month compared to last year.

The weekend closed out a July that saw a 139% jump in city wide murders compared the same month last year, a CPD report said.

This 139% increase comes amid calls around the country from liberals to defund and in many cases abolish the police. This crime seems to be disproportionately harming black people and particularly young black children.

It’s starting to become a norm and it’s ridiculous that our community has to go through this

Nathan Wallace, Natalia’ Wallace’s father

Sincere Gaston, Mekhi James, Natalia Wallace, Lena Nunez, Amaria Jones,  Janari Ricks, and Vernando Jones Junior are a few among those under 15-years-old who have lost their lives.

“It’s starting to become a norm and it’s ridiculous that our community has to go through this that our family,” said Nathan Wallace, Natalia’s father. “My condolences go out to the family of the 9 year old boy (referencing Janari Ricks killed over the weekend). I mean what are we going to do to actually stop this?”

As Black lives are being lost and it’s not due to a white police officers, it is time we have a more mature and pointed conversation about what is really the priority of organizations like Black Lives Matter. The silence of these “social justice warriors” is deafening as Chicago sees more death than a literal war zone.
